What it is

Slow, supervised, brief.

Personal Strength Training, one to one. Forty-five minutes a week on MedX, Nautilus and Cybex resistance machines, following the HIT (High Intensity Training) protocol - distinct from HIIT, the interval cardio method.

01 / Coaching

One coach, one client.

Every session is supervised end-to-end. No queues, no shared floor, no distraction. The coach is on the floor with you for every set.

02 / Equipment

MedX, Nautilus, Cybex.

Heavy-duty resistance machines engineered for the spine, knees and hips - the same generation of strength-rehabilitation equipment used in clinics across Europe.

03 / Protocol

Super-slow HIT.

Forty-five minutes of measured effort. Each repetition takes ten seconds to lift and ten to lower - easier on joints, harder on muscle.

04 / Cadence

Once a week.

One session a week is enough for most clients. The recovery between visits is where the strength is built.

Who we work with

Two reasons people come.

They want measurable strength under supervision, or they have a specific issue that needs careful progression. Both are welcome.

Measurable strength

Adults who want supervised strength gains - whether you currently train, sit at a desk, run, walk, play tennis, hike, golf, or none of the above.

A specific issue

Lower back pain, osteoporosis, or post-surgical recovery (hip, knee, shoulder, back) once a surgical or clinical team has cleared loading. Many arrive on the recommendation of a GP, osteopath or physiotherapist.

What a session looks like

You arrive in normal clothes - no need to change. The studio is quiet, appointment-only, and you are the only client on the floor. You and the coach work through six exercises in turn. The coach stands next to you adjusting load and form, and writes every set into your record. Forty-five minutes from arrival to leaving. No music, no mirrors, no queue.

Your coach

Every session is one to one with Yoram Sher, director and head coach. Yoram is Kieser-trained , has been on this floor since 2005, and reads and answers every enquiry himself. Read his background .

A first visit

A first visit is forty minutes by appointment: a walk-through of the studio, a conversation about your history (current training, past injury, what brought you in), and a single calibration set on the MedX. Then you leave. If, at the end, you would rather not return, there is no obligation to.

What it costs

A single session is £85. Block bookings (ten or twenty sessions) are available at a lower per-session rate. Pricing is the same for all clients, all sessions, all conditions.

Client testimonial

“I have been training at Ultimate Strength for just under four years. I was new to the field of strength training when I joined but now I could not live without it. Through strength training I am not only stronger but I am more toned and lean. As a doctor I am aware that increasing your muscle mass increases your metabolic rate but never really believed it until it worked for me.”
