Personal Strength Training, one stop south on the Northern Line

Personal Strength Training at Ultimate Strength is one to one, supervised, and brief: a single forty-five-minute session a week on MedX, Nautilus and Cybex equipment, following High Intensity Training (HIT) - a slow, controlled, one-to-one strength protocol, distinct from HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training).

We do not have a Finchley branch. There is one studio, on East End Road in East Finchley. For most clients from Finchley Central, the journey is shorter than the warm-up at a big-box gym, and parking near the studio is more reliable than on the High Road in N3.

Who comes from N3

Finchley clients fall into the same broad groups as elsewhere in our catchment, with one local skew: a meaningful share are former Kieser Training Camden members who continued the lumbar-extension work here after the Camden studio closed.

  • Adults in their 50s, 60s and 70s who want supervised strength training without the noise and queueing of conventional N3 gyms.
  • People managing lower back pain. Lower Back Rehabilitation on the MedX lumbar extension is the single most common reason people from Finchley first call.
  • Former Kieser Training Camden members continuing the MedX-based protocol with the same generation of equipment.
  • Adults with osteoporosis or osteopenia building bone density alongside their doctor’s plan.
  • Recovery from hip, knee, shoulder or back surgery once cleared by the surgical team.

Many Finchley clients arrive on the recommendation of a local GP, osteopath or physiotherapist. Clinician recommendations are always welcome - mention them when you enquire.

What clients say

The training at Ultimate Strength is very much geared to individual needs, that means you can see results quickly and that helps motivation. Sessions are also organised so that you always feel you are making progress. Yoram is a very supportive trainer and really knows what he is doing which of course helps a lot.
